There Doesn't Need To Be An App For That

Last week I tweeted about discovering a Taco Bell app for the iPhone. Called “Why Pay More,” the app let’s you input how much money you have on you, and then shake the phone. A slot machine looking thing then identifies three items on the value menu you can afford. Kinda gimmicky, but whatever.

Today, while looking up some more info on the app for a friend, I stumbled across another Taco Bell related app, the “Taco Bell Finder,” which claims to grab your location and direct you toward the nearest Taco Bell. Exciting, till I realized it cost 1.99 and I already had an app that could handle such a task.

My brain.

I still think there is a market for iphone apps that will allow people to place orders for Starbucks, Taco Bell, Dunkin Donuts, etc bill a credit card on file and you can just stroll up, give ID and be off with your food, drinks, etc. This would be great in a corporate setting or for people constantly moving, or people who just hate lines

That already exists! A small but growing startup has been doing that in New York for years. Check out gomobo.com. I believe they have an iPhone app as well.
